PART 1: DOOR NUMBERS

So really, one of the most important things is a door number – otherwise how do you know which room to go to ? Up until fairly late on rooms were referred to as “Arsenic bay” “no bay”, “single” etc. which certainly got confusing at times…

So, door numbers Perspex? Metal? Big? Small? Huge? faced with all these choices we went for wood. As you do when you don’t have much time – you choose a totally bespoke option – obviously. So through our wonderful framer Tim (yes Tim I need 14 bespoke oak frames by tomorrow- oh you can? Great) he told us about Joe – a magician in the wood world. (Choosing a font was important too – if anyone can guess what it is – they get a prize…) Joe produced for us in double quick time the most beautiful etched wooden door numbers the world has ever seen…
